Sweatbox takes the health and safety of both its customers and staff very seriously.    We were the first gay sauna to close our doors in March 2020 – in advance of the mandatory lockdown.    We did this because we felt it was the right and moral thing to do.

 

Whilst constantly monitoring the situation, we chose not to re-open at any point until July 19th 2021.   Again, we made this decision because we felt it was the right and moral thing to do.

In line with Government policy, we do NOT require any form of COVID passport to enter the premises.

MASKS

We do not require you to wear a mask.  However, for those who would feel more comfortable in a mask, we are selling the FFP3 masks which are now being used by staff in all NHS Covid wards.   In recent tests, the FFP3 mask gave 100% Covid protection to the mask wearer.

MASK CHECKS

If you choose to wear your own mask, we may require you to remove it temporarily and in a safe environment to make sure you are not using it to bring illegal substances onto the premises.

 

AIR HANDLING

In 2019, Sweatbox completed a £1.2m refurbishment which included powerful, state of the art air handling systems capable of a complete air change every 9 minutes thus significantly impacting on the possibility of lingering airborne droplets.

 

OUR STERILISATION PROCEDURES:

   

• AIR STERILS

Sweatbox uses an NHS approved Ultra Violet and Ozone based germicidal sanitisers called Airsteril.    Our Airsterils are on constantly and are proven to be highly effective to kill airborn and surface based microbes and viruses.

• SAGEWASH

As well as regular, deep cleaning, our steam rooms are regularly sanitised with a spray system called Sagewash which has been tested and proved effective against Parvovirus, Corona Virus, H1N1, Norovius, E-coli, Listeria & much else.

 

• ANTIBACTERIAL TOWELS

Our towels are made from microfibre not cotton.   We chose microfibre because of its proven antimicrobial quality.

 

• LAUNDRY

We use an Antibacterial laundry detergent.

 

• SAFEZONE VIRUCIDAL DISINFECTANT

A major player in our comprehensive cleaning regime is Safezone which has been used by the NHS for many years due to its effectiveness at killing viruses and bacteria

 

• GEL SANITISER AND ANTIBACTERIAL WIPES

Antibacterial gel for your hands and wipes for furniture are available throughout the building.
